BRAINTREE, MA., (May 1, 2019) – It is always easy to talk the talk, but the Liberty Bay Community Matters team walks the walk, literally, especially when it comes to their community partners. As a silver sponsor, Liberty Bay’s Community Matters Team stepped out to support Old Colony Hospice at their 21st Annual Walk and Run at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton, MA. The event raises money for the organization which, since 1979, has supported families who are facing the struggle of end-stage diseases.

Arc Autism Resource Center Finds a Scarce Resource at Liberty Bay Credit Union

BRAINTREE, MASS. (April 10, 2019) – As Autism Awareness is highlighted during the month of April, The Arc of the South Shore Autism Resource Center continues its efforts to educate and support families who are affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders. One of the services provided by the Center includes a parent support group; however, with meeting space as a scarce resource, Liberty Bay Credit Union has been honored to host the Autism Resource Center for their monthly meetings at Liberty Bay’s Braintree Community Room.

Liberty Bay Credit Union Recognized for FA$Ttrack'ing Financial Education

BRAINTREE, MASS. (April 4, 2019) – Financial Literacy is important in any phase of life, but it is not always accessible to everyone. Financial planning has long been thought to be something that only the wealthy can afford. This is no longer the case, as Liberty Bay Credit Union has made financial education part of it’s foundation in educating the community-at-large through its online financial platform called FA$Ttrack. The dedication has paid off with a Credit Union Heroes Award, in the category of financial education, by American Business Media, publishers of Banking New England and CenterPoint magazines. Liberty Bay CU was recognized with a bronze award on March 28, 2019 at the Awards Gala at The Armory at MGM Springfield.

Literacy = Liberty to the Community Matters Team at Liberty Bay Credit Union

BRAINTREE, MASS. (April 1, 2019) – Financial Literacy is one of the cornerstones of Liberty Bay Credit Union’s foundation. Community Matters, the volunteer arm of Liberty Bay, is now making children’s literature its top priority. During the month of April, Liberty Bay Community Matters is partnering with Massachusetts Credit Unions and the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless in their campaign “A Bed for Every Child”, an initiative that will provide a mattress, linens and a bag of books to children in need.

(March 18, 2019) – As homeowners’ insurance payouts trickle in for the Massachusetts coastal communities hit hardest by 2017/2018 winter storms, many are finding the rebuilding costs from the devastation to be more exorbitant than the amounts received from insurance payouts. In many instances homeowners have been forced to wait over a year to begin the rebuilding process, only to be devastated again by the amount reimbursed by insurance.
